I've been a photographer professionally for eight years now and I can let you know that this is the single best piece of equipment below $50 which you will ever get. Deal with the century. When you believe you want it, then for $35 you can't go wrong. At this price you could acquire two or 3 and use them as light stands for strobist style speedlight lighting and have the flexibility to point your speedlight anywhere that you'd like via the ball head. I really purchased this not for photography but to hold my pochade box for plein air painting. It is worked out great. The fact is a preferred manufacturer of pochade boxes sells an almost identical tripod for $160.00 (I've a powerful suspicion that they're manufactured in the same factory)!!! The case that it comes with would be $35 alone from other producers. When you are not positive whether or not this will hold your camera or not I assure you that you will. Anybody using a camera too heavy for this tripod has already purchased dozens of cameras and lenses and tripods and knows exactly what they have to have.
