Gorillapods are excellent, but you'll need 1 thats one-model stiffer than what Joby says. For instance, get this 1 in case you have a D300, and dont expect it to hold it up really properly having a 600mm/2.8 lens on it. However it will hold it up with medium size lenses. My prior 1, one model down, was not strong enough for me to be comfortable putting a D300 on with anything heavier than the 18-200 mounted. Just be careful - its simple to dump your camera with this factor if you are not. (More Detail...)
